Q. Are Curbside Xpressions mailboxes approved by the Postmaster General.
A. The Curbside mailbox inserts are 100% approved by the Postmaster General.
Q. Who owns the mailbox?
A. Homeowners need to be aware that even though they purchased and maintain the residential mailbox, the mailbox belongs to and is controlled by the United States Postal Service according to federal law Title 18, United States Code, Section 1705. Who Owns your Mailbox). That means that any tampering of the mailbox is a federal offense.
Q. Do the Curbside mail columns hold up to warm and cold weather conditions?
A. Absolutely, Curbside mail columns can handle extreme heat and cold temperatures, from +120 to -30 degrees.
Q. Are the columns heavy?
A. The columns weigh between 35 and 50 pounds depending on the style, with Rock and Stone being the heaviest but still light enough to work with.
Q. Are the columns easy to install?
A. They truly are. If you can put in a post and mix up concrete you should be able to install a Curbside Mail Column. (If you are not sure, most contractors can)
Q. What happens if someone hits the mail column with their car or motorcycle?
A. The columns are made to breakaway so that if a car or motorcycle hits it, they driver and or passenger will not be hurt by it.
(NOTE) Real brick, rock, stone and log mail columns are not allowed and are illegal in most states) Curbside Columns are safe.
Q. Will I be liable for damages if someone hits my column?
A. Just like any other mail box, if someone damages it or runs into it, you will be responsible for damages. Most the time your homeowners will cover the damages However, if you have a real brick, rock, stone or log mail column and someone gets hurt or killed, your insurance company most likely will not cover you or the real mail box column because real ones are against most ordinances.
Q. Why doesn't the columns have a flag on it?
A. Curbside Xpressions LLC, has been very cautious and concerned about your well being. Because of all the new ways that are available to people with less that honorable intentions, which include check fraud, stolen identity and stolen gift cards and gifts, we have found that by not informing a thief that there is something in the mail box waiting to be picked up, has decreased theifs from opening your mail box and stealing whats in it. You mail carrier will know when they deliver your mail.
Q. Are the columns made of real brick, rock, stone or log?
A. No, but they are made with real brick, stone or natural composites over a fiber mesh, creating a extremely strong surface that is identical to the real building materials.
Q. What if I ordered a custom column and it doesn't match my home correctly?
A. We cannot guarantee that a custom made column will match your homes exterior exactly. We will make every effort to match the pictures you send us of your homes exterior but due to lighting or lack of on the pictures you send there may be a difference in color. Most the time because of the distance between the home and the mail column you will never notice the color difference.
Q. What if my column is delivered with damaged?
A. If your column is damaged you must contact us within 24 hours of delivery and forward pictures of the shipping box and the damage to the column. At that time we will contact you with our replacement policy.
